MORGENROT MARLBOROUGH

Supper Club Wines draws its inspiration from the Supper Clubs of London during the 1940’s where patrons could dine, drink and dance in less formal surroundings. Like its namesake this wine is to be enjoyed in the company of good food and friends. We are sure both the wine and the stylish label will become talking points over dinner.

Young ‘Rockstar’ winemaker Nick Entwistle has encapsulated all the finest qualities of Marlborough and over-delivers on quality. Fruit is drawn from just two contrasting blockstwo blocks - Dillion's Point on the Eastern side of Marlborough is more fertile and has silt based soil giving fuller fruit; Rapaura Road is planted on a dry old river bed and those stoney and flinty characteristics very much come through in the wine. The average vine age is 18 years.

Morton Estate:

Penny Lane Sauvignon Blanc has prominent asparagus aromas and a full palate that displays forceful gooseberry and lime flavours.

Penny Lane Pinot Noir is a ‘good middle of the road’ style, lightly fruited with red fruits on the nose and a soft finish

Supper Club:

Supper Club Sauvignon is a true expression of Marlborough, characterised by intense tropical and passionfruit aromatics in combination with more delicate citrus and floral notes. These attributes translate generously onto the palate, which is bursting with tropical fruit, ripe citrus and fine mineral acidity. The excellent growing conditions resulted in a wine of both great intensity and balance, a true hallmark of the remarkable 2013 vintage.
