Rias Baixas is the region in the far north west immediately above the Portuguese border. It is famous for its indigenous grape Albarino - apart from in Portugal, as Alvarinho - grown virtually no-where else in the world. It makes distinctive wines combining the crispness of Sauvignon, aromas of Pinot Gris and flavours of Viognier. These wines are a superb match to sea foods - the local cuisine of the region - and the best command premium prices.

Pablo Padin was founded in 1986 at Dena in the heart of Rias Baixas. They produce a range of Albarino wines and Galician Liqueurs. Grapes sourced from their own vineyards are supplemented by those of local growers, selected after strict quality control. Production at the Bodega is restricted to 450,000 bottles to maximise quality over quantity.

Pablo Padin:

Eiral - is made from 100% Albarino in a light, zippy more traditional style but still showing plenty of fruit, balance and class.

Segrel Ambar - is made from hand selected, highest quality Albarino grapes. It has a brilliant yellow colour and highly aromatic nose with hints of citrus fruits. Balanced and very fruity on the palate. An excellent choice with shellfish.
